HellBoy and the Golden Army - Worth 2 Hours but barely
So for the past year or so I have been stoked for the movie to come out. The first one caught me by surprise cause it was just fantastic. It had some excellent humor carefully wrapped around some twisted and gruesome edges. The ending of the first one with the cosmic Cthulhu horrors was so incredibly well done that I couldn’t bare to wait for this one… I saw it opening day but I have been holding off writing my review because I didn’t want to say I was disappointed. But I was very disappointed. The movie is not horrible but all the coolness somehow got sucked out of this movie and after the first scene with the tooth fairies so did the awesome horror. I felt like it was a happy G rated Disney movie that had sat too close to the Pans Labyrinth DVD on my shelf in the living room.

Oh, and why would you change the voice of Abe Sapien when David Hyde Pierce was fricken awesome in the first one?
Hellboy 2 was fun; for sure that director has an amazing imagination, reminded me a lot of his work in Pan’s Labyrinth
